St BRIDE'S AS CONCERT VENUE

Capacity

  • ~180 seated audience: 120 in the Nave; 56 in the side Lady Chapel (some with restricted view)
  • seating is flexible and can be partially re-arranged to suit
  • additional seating can be provided

Instruments available

Venue layout

  • large performance space in front of the Choir Stalls
  • space is flexible and performance spaces can be created around the Church
  • audience are seated in rows facing performance area
  • seating is traditional wooden chairs

Facilities

  • the Sacristy may be available for use by soloists
  • the Choir Vestry is available but not suitable for use as a changing-room
  • a Gents' Toilet is situated on church level, the Ladies' Toilet is downstairs
  • a kitchen is downstairs, and a large Crypt area with tables, chairs, and a Boudoir Grand Piano
  • a small meeting room (seats 12-15) opens off the Crypt and could be used as a Dressing-room

Access

Regrettably we have no disabled access at present, there are steps into the church both via the main entrance and side entrance.

Standard User Agreement

A Standard User Agreement would require to be signed. Please contact the Concert Co-ordinator, Mrs Alison Gifford.

Costs

  • A donation to St Bride's is required. There are two standard rates: May-Sep £150 // Oct-Apr £200.
  • Donation includes one afternoon's rehearsal on the day of the event, use of the Steinway, all facilities available, and heating (between October and April only).
  • Additional rehearsal time is charged at £15.00 per hour, plus the cost price of heating if required. (Heating costs vary by season)

Grand Piano

The Steinway is tuned regularly. Additional tuning can be arranged, but at your expense. If the Steinway is not required the donation may be reduced.

Refreshments

Drinks/other refreshments may be served at the back of the Church. Glasses and tables are available. You may serve complementary alcoholic drinks but there is no licence to sell.

We will be happy to publicise your event:
  • on our website
  • in our Monthly Church Magazine
  • in the Diocesan Monthly Newsletter (if info received in time)
  • in our weekly Pew Sheet in the week prior to your event
You are responsible for your own additional publicity. We can display any Fliers at the back of the Church before your event.
